Ram Navami is one of the auspicious festivals of Hindus. It is believed that on the ninth day of Chaitra month which is the conclusion day of Chaitra Navratri Lord Ram took Birth. Chaitra Navratri https://minikosh.com/education-chaitra-navratri-2024
It is believed that, he is the most ideal man who ever took birth on the earth. One can read Lord Ram’s story in two epics of Hindus one is Ram Charit Manas and the Other is Ramayana. It is believed that the Ramayana was written before the birth of Lord Ram.
Lord Ram is seventh incarnation among the ten incarnations (Dashavatar) of Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu is responsible for sustenance of this planet. (Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Mahesh (combinedly known as Trimurti) are responsible for formation, sustenance and destruction).
Being a descendent of Surya Dev, Lord Ram is also called as Suryavanshi. (As he took birth in the dynasty of Ikshvaku which was founded by Raja Ikshvaku, the Son of Surya Dev ).
It is believed that Chanting the divine name of Shri Ram thrice gives Punya equivalent to Chanting the Vishnu Sahasranama (Thousand names of Lord Vishnu).
Once for protecting the Kashi King Yayati, for helping the Yayati in the battle, Hanumanji fought with Lord Ram and Hanuman ji Started reciting name of Lord Ram, by doing so, arrows of Ram ji had no effect on Hanuman ji and Ram Ji had to accept the defeat.
Lord Ram is not only worshipped in India, but also in many other Asian countries such as Malaysia, Cambodia, Nepal, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Burma and Philippines. Also in these countries, the Ramayana is being performed as a folk culture.
From the life journey of Lord Ram one can learn how a person should lead his life. Lord Ram is also called as Mariyada Purushottam Ram, which means the best of men or the perfect personality.
It is said that after Sita Mata’s Thal Samadhi, Lord Ram became sad and with the consent of Yamraj, Lord Ram took Jal Samadhi at the Guptar Ghat of Saryu River in Ayodhya.
